Licence & diagnostics

Without a licence, SynQaiPro runs in trial mode (with restrictions, see 17.6). A licence unlocks the full range of functions and is tied to your PC’s hardware. This chapter shows how to activate and check your licence and how to move it to a new PC.

17.1 The demo mode dialogue at start-up

Without a valid licence, the SynQaiPro · Demo mode dialogue greets you at start-up (heading “You are using a trial/evaluation version”). It shows this PC’s hardware ID (field “Hardware ID of this PC (for purchasing a licence):” with a Copy button) — you need this ID when buying a licence. At the top right you switch the language (7 languages). There are three routes:

17.2 The licence centre

You open the SynQaiPro · Licence centre via the demo mode dialogue or at any time by clicking the program logo at the top left (tooltip “Open licence centre”). It gathers everything about the licence into cards:

17.3 Loading a licence file

Load licence file opens a file selection dialogue (“SynQaiPro · Load licence file”) that shows only licence files (*.v3lic) and navigates via a quick access (Documents, Desktop, Downloads). After Apply the file is copied into the program directory and read in immediately (“Licence file has been applied — status has been updated.”).

17.4 Moving to a new PC

Because the licence is tied to the PC, you release it before a transfer and activate it again on the new machine:

  1. Step 1 (old PC): in the licence centre, click Generate confirmation code. The licence is invalidated on this PC and you receive a confirmation code.
  2. On the website: enter the code in LocomeoSoft’s transfer portal and receive a reactivation code for the new hardware ID.
  3. Step 2 (new PC): enter the reactivation code in the Reactivation code field and click Activate licence. On success SynQaiPro restarts.
⚠️ Releasing invalidates the licence on this PC
After “Generate confirmation code”, SynQaiPro can only be used on this PC again once a reactivation has taken place. The program asks explicitly beforehand (“The licence will be invalidated on this PC …”).

17.5 The License Reactor — transfer without SynQaiPro

The transfer from section 17.4 can also be done with a stand-alone program: the SynQaiPro License Reactor (SynQaiPro.LicenseReactor.exe, located in the program directory next to SynQaiPro). It does the same as the licence centre but does not need SynQaiPro itself — which helps precisely when the main program can no longer be operated sensibly because of a licence that has already been released, has expired or is bound to another PC. The window’s subtitle: “Transfer licence to a new PC”.

ℹ️ Which tool when?
Both lead to the same result. If SynQaiPro still runs, the licence centre (17.4) is the shorter route. The License Reactor is the choice when you want or need to carry out the transfer independently of the main program — for instance on a freshly set-up PC where SynQaiPro is not installed yet. Deliberately no desktop shortcut is created for the Reactor; you start it directly from the program folder.

What the window shows

CardContent
Hardware ID of this PCThe identifier a licence is bound to, with a Copy button. On the new PC you need exactly this value for the website
Licence fileThe SynQaiPro.v3lic is searched for automatically (program directory and application data folder). If it is not found, the status line reports “No SynQaiPro.v3lic found automatically” — then select it via Load licence file
Your licencelicence type (full version, subscription, evaluation version), status, key, validity and hardware binding
Hardware detailsAppears only with hardware-bound licences and contrasts the hardware ID stored in the licence with the current one — with a plain verdict “✓ The hardware IDs match” or “✗ … was issued for a different PC”
Step 1 / Step 2The two actions of the transfer (see below)
NotesThe complete procedure in four lines — the same order as here in the manual

Like SynQaiPro itself, the Reactor is available in seven languages; the switch sits at the top of the window (tooltip “Change language”).

The procedure in four steps

  1. Old PC: start the Reactor and click Generate confirmation code. After the confirmation prompt the licence is invalidated on this PC and the code appears ready to copy.
  2. New PC: copy the SynQaiPro.v3lic there, start the Reactor on it and note down or copy the hardware ID shown.
  3. On the LocomeoSoft website: enter both values — the confirmation code from the old PC and the hardware ID of the new PC. You receive the reactivation code.
  4. New PC: enter the reactivation code in step 2 (the Paste from clipboard button saves typing) and click Activate licence.
⚠️ The release is the point of no return
Step 1 invalidates the licence on the old PC — SynQaiPro can only be used there again after a reactivation. That is why the Reactor asks explicitly (“The licence will be invalidated on this PC …”). So only carry out this step when the transfer is really due, and note down the confirmation code before you close the window.
ℹ️ Your licence file stays unchanged
The Reactor writes the release into a lock file of its own; the SynQaiPro.v3lic itself is not touched. So you need no new licence file for the new PC — simply copy the existing one along. If a release is no longer possible because the hardware is defective, contact support.

17.6 Overview: what trial mode restricts

In trial mode, SynQaiPro points out the respective limit at the affected places with 🧪 Trial mode. All evaluations, previews and viewing of results remain usable — what is locked is always only the final, modifying step:

AreaRestriction in trial mode
Analysis / synchronisationat most 10 files per run
Secure deletion1×/3×/7× disabled — only normal deletion takes place (chapter 13)
File reconstructorrestoring locked; scan results are displayed (chapter 11)
Batch renamingfinal renaming locked; preview usable (chapter 7)
Duplicate finder / image similarity / organiserfinal deletion locked or limited (chapters 8–10)
ShotScopewriting metadata locked; display free (chapter 12)
Encryption (SynQaiCrypt)no restriction (chapter 14)
⚠️ Licence checking during operation
SynQaiPro re-checks the licence with every critical operation. If it becomes invalid at run time or expires, the program reports “The licence became invalid or expired during operation. The application will be closed.” and closes.

17.7 About SynQaiPro

The About SynQaiPro button in the footer of the licence centre opens the info dialogue with the program version, details of the vendor and contact, legal notices and the third-party components used. The version given there is helpful for support enquiries.
