Cloud synchronisation with Dropbox

Instead of a local folder, the left side of a job can also use a Dropbox folder. That way you synchronise local data directly against your cloud — in both directions, with the same modes and tools as with a normal synchronisation.

ℹ️ Switched on per job, one account for all

The connection (the on/off state and the chosen cloud folder) is job-specific. The account link is global: a Dropbox account logged in once is available to all jobs.

15.1 Enabling Dropbox for a job

Above the left folder tree sits the Dropbox switch (tooltip “Enable Dropbox for this job”). Switch it on and the left folder symbol turns blue, and “☁ Dropbox: on” is written to the job log. A click on the browse button of the left side now opens the Dropbox flow rather than the Windows folder dialogue.

15.2 Signing in to the account

If you are not connected yet, the ☁ Dropbox sign-in dialogue appears. A click on 🌐 Connect to Dropbox opens your browser; there you sign in to Dropbox and confirm the access. Afterwards the dialogue shows “✓ Connected as: …”, and the browser page reports “✓ Login successful! …”.

ℹ️ The sign-in is retained

The connection is stored securely and restored automatically the next time the program starts — so you only have to sign in once. SynQaiPro does not store a password but an access token issued by Dropbox.

15.3 Choosing a cloud folder

After signing in, ☁ Choose Dropbox folder opens with the folder tree under the 📦 Dropbox root. Choose the folder you want and confirm with Select (only active once a folder is marked). The job’s left path then shows the cloud address (prefix dropbox://); the log shows “📁 Dropbox folder chosen: …”.

From here on you work as usual: analyse, choose a mode, synchronise (chapter 4). All cloud accesses are additionally recorded in the job log.

15.4 Releasing the connection again

If you switch the Dropbox toggle off again, this job’s cloud folder is released (log “☁ Dropbox: off”) and the job works with local folders again. Your Dropbox account stays signed in and available for other jobs.

15.5 In trial mode

No separate trial-mode rules apply to cloud synchronisation — only the general synchronisation limit (at most 10 files per run in trial mode).
