Backup & maintenance

All maintenance functions are in the IMPORT section of the settings. They affect only MuSéa’s own database and caches — your audio files stay untouched.

14.1 Exporting and restoring a backup

Export backup packs both databases (library and cover cache) into a single file with the extension .symbackup. Restore backup reads such a file back in; the restore is applied on the next start, because the databases are open at runtime. On request MuSéa restarts immediately for this.

💡 Progress visible
Export and restore can take a few seconds with large libraries. A progress ring next to the buttons indicates that MuSéa is working; afterwards the status line reports the result.
