Equalizer
The equalizer shapes the sound. It can be turned on/off via the EQ button on the transport bar and opened either embedded or in a separate window (setting under EQUALIZER → EQ view). As soon as the EQ is active, the signal badge shows DSP mode — the path is then deliberately no longer bit-perfect.
9.1 Presets and bands
At the top you choose a Preset or save the current state as your own via Save as. You switch the number of bands between 5 bands, 7 bands and 10 bands. You drag individual bands directly in the curve; Band + adds a band, Flat flattens the curve.
9.2 Importing a headphone profile (PEQ)
MuSéa reads parametric correction profiles in AutoEq/oratory1990/EqualizerAPO format (ParametricEQ.txt). After the import the EQ equalizes your headphones automatically. Via the unload button you return to 7 bands.
Filter 1: ON PK Fc 1000 Hz Gain 3.0 dB Q 1.0. You find such profiles e.g. in the AutoEq database for many headphone models.9.3 Phase mode, auto-gain, analyzer
- Phase mode — Linear-phase (phase-pure, ~43 ms latency) or minimum-phase (0 ms latency).
- Auto-gain — pulls the curve automatically below 0 dB and thus prevents overdriving.
- Analyzer — shows the spectrum and level display.
9.4 Tone controls and crossfeed
In addition to the bands there are global controls for bass, mids, treble (±12 dB), a pre-gain (headroom against clipping) and the balance. Crossfeed softens the hard left/right separation on headphones (0 % = off). Reset tone controls sets all tone controls neutral.
9.5 Convolution (impulse response / FIR)
Via Load filter… you load a convolution filter (WAV impulse response or FIR text file), e.g. for room correction. A trim slider keeps the level against clipping; if the filter rate does not match the playback rate, MuSéa adjusts it automatically (resamples). The frequency response shows Target (filter) against Measured (engine).
