Browsing the library

The library is the heart of MuSéa. At the top you choose the axis to group by; below it the matching tiles or rows appear. Search, filter and sorting can be combined freely.

4.1 The four axes

Via the switcher you choose between Albums, Artists, Genres and Tracks. Each axis has its own tile size (zoom) and its own sorting.

4.2 Search, filter, sort

Search — the search field filters the current axis live (e.g. “Search albums…”).
Filter — narrows to Album, Album artist or Artist; filters combine (“Combined: …”).
Sort — depending on the axis by album title, year, track count, total duration, quality or name; a button reverses the direction.

4.3 Opening an album

Clicking an album tile opens the album’s track list. Via Play album the whole album starts playing; a double-click on a row plays a single track.

4.4 Customizing the track list and columns

In the track view you show additional columns via Columns: artist, album, composer, genre, year, format, quality, sample rate, bit depth, bitrate, duration, file path and more. Drag a tag into the table = add; drag a column header out = remove.

4.5 Favorites and context menu

A row’s ⋯ button or right-click menu offers, among others, Play track, Add to playlist, Edit metadata, Change cover and the SoundRay analysis. Entries marked as favorites are quickly reached via the Favorites area of the sidebar.
